December 5th, 2013 - Detroit News columnist Neal Rubin visited us the day after Thanksgiving and came along us as we delivered beds to a mother who needed them for her young children. Click here to read the article. The family featured is one of 1,200 we will serve in 2013, including more than 2,700 adults and 1,300 children in total. This year we will provide 8,000 items of furniture to families living in poverty, transitioning from homelessness and fleeing crisis situations... as well as families like the one in the article, who are working hard but just need a little help.
November 6th, 2013 - The fall edition of our newsletter is out now! It can be viewed here. In it you will read about some of our clients, the volunteers that help us fulfil our mission, as well as other news from the organization.
October 22nd, 2013 - The Furniture Bank of Southeastern Michigan is always in need of volunteers to help fulfil our mission of providing beds and essential home furnishings to children and families in need. We need help answering phones, making appointments, working with clients, assisting those choosing their furniture, and sorting through the donations we receive from our generous supporters. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact us at email@example.com or call us at (248)332-1300.
October 3rd, 2013 - On behalf of our staff and board we would like to thank Dave and Simply Signs for its generous donation of indoor and outdoor signage for our facility. You can view some of their work here.
